CHAMPION Woodbine rider Patrick Husbands and challenger Eurico Rosa Da Silva have flip-flopped atop the current jockey standings again.
The Barbadian-born veteran scored twice on yesterday’s ten-race programme, but Da Silva matched him also landing a double to take both their tally to 37 winning rides each, but Husbands has the lead by also riding 37 second-placed horses.
But the day’s feature Marine Stakes for three-year-olds over 1 1/16 miles eluded Husbands.
He had to settle for second place in the Can$159,300 race astride Hotep.
Husbands got his first winner in the fourth race aboard Tasty Temptation in a 1 1/16 miles race worth Can$88,972 for fillies and mares three-year-olds and upwards.
And he completed his double riding D’Country to victory in the ninth race, a six furlong allowance for three-year-olds and up fillies and mares worth Can$61,300.
Husbands also finished second astride Ladies Don’t Lie in the second race and third in the seventh on Essence Thunder.
Trinidad-born jockey Emile Ramsammy, an ex-Sovereign Award winner had one winning ride yesterday.
He booted home Meke B King in the day’s opener over six furlongs which was a claiming event for three-year-olds and upwards worth Can$36,046.
He was also on the tines in the eighth race, guiding Winning Charm into second.
Da Silva who is currently Husbands’ main challenger got a double, but he too missed out on the day’s feature.
