NEWBOYS Eagles United crushed St Mary’s United 7-2 to take an early lead in the Premier Division of the Central Football Association.
The EnterpriseVillage men got a hat-trick from Stephen Whiteman who netted in the 25th minute, 40th and 69th, two from Glenwell John in the 8th and 12th and one each from Dave Charles in the 65th and Seion Regis in the 70th. Kevon Wilson 55th minute and Jameale Chevalier 71st got the St Mnary’s goals.
But the Eagles had to come from behind to edge Leeds United 2-1 after trailing to a Trent Lougheed goal in the 19th minute.
Dale Cadogan hit the equaliser in the 23rd minute before Machel James got the winner in the 77th.
Caroni Connection whipped both Couva Sports and St Mary’s United to move into second place on the standings.
The Connection got a double from Amase Thomas, the first goal in the 56th minute and the second in the 76th, to shut out Couva Sports 2-0.
And they later overwhelmed St Mary’s 4-1 with Malcolm Nedd 26th minute, Amase Thomas 48th, Kellon Alexander 73rd and Kevin Neptune 78th the goal scorers. Kevon Wilson got a 16th minute consolation.
