THIS season’s two-year-olds will make their debut to racing on Arima Race Club Day 32 at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Saturday. The seven-horse field in the day’s feature $100,000 Nursery Stakes is headed by four bred in Jamaica.

Two of the runners, Girlz Dem Sugar and Remember Me come from the champion trainer Glenn Mendez barn.

Fields on the day are particularly small with most entrants - 10 - in the day’s fifth race an Optional Claiming event over 1100 metres on the turf.

From the overnight entries, the best betting race appears to be the third race with nine runners, a 1200 metres heat a TT Bred Handicap for four-year- olds and over maidens worth $20,000.

Meanwhile, Sleepinginthong shows some fire ahead of the Nursery Stakes with a good gallop over 600 metres in 38.3 seconds.

My Darling Doc, a late withdrawal on Independence Day, Tuesday last, stepped lively over the same 600 metres trip to be clocked in 37.4 seconds.

Apart from those two gallops, trainers took things lightly with their charges
