Overseas five join Soca Warriors

THE Soca Warriors has called up five overseas players for two forthcoming international friendly matches in preparation for the Digicel Caribbean Cup. Defenders Yohance Marshall of the LA Galaxy, Julius James of DC United, striker Cornell Glen of San Jose Earthquakes and Puerto Rico Islanders duo of Kendall Jagdeosingh and Keon Daniel have been selected.

Coach Russell Latapy decided against selecting Stoke City striker, Kenwyne Jones and Ipswich Town midfielder, Carlos Edwards because they would not be available for the Digicel Caribbean Cup.

The Soca Warriors will face Jamaica on October 10 in Kingston while an opponent is being finalised for the October 6 friendly at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port-of-Spain.

Jamaica coach, Theodore Whitmore selected Stoke City striker Ricardo Fuller in his squad. He is among several overseas players called up for the encounter which includes; San Jose Earthquakes duo of Khari Stephenson and Ryan Johnson, Columbus Crew defender, Shaun Francis, Toronto FC striker, Obrain White, New York Red Bulls striker Dane Richards and Norway based midfielder, Rodolph Austin.
