WE have been here for more than a week and I must say the trip has been going very well far. We played our first match on Sunday and it was really a good performance by us and I was very proud of the way we handled it as a team. We weren’t nervous but it’s Brazil we were playing so of course there was a excitement but also a bit of nerves because we all know they are giants in world football.

Everyone knows about Brazil. My favourite football player Kaka is from Brazil and we’re all excited to be in the country where the 2014 World Cup will be played.

The hotel here is nice. We have all the facilities available to us and training and staying here so far has been a very good experience for us. It makes the working out so much more enjoyable and everything is related to preparing a footballer to the best of their ability.

We haven’t gone anywhere except to the training field and back to the hotel so I haven’t had a chance to see much of the city so far but just being in Brazil has been great so far. I think maybe we will get the chance to see a bit more of Brazil before we return home.

We spent the last couple days really focusing on the game. The coach prepared us well. We knew Brazil would be a big challenge so we didn’t expect the game to be any bit easy.

We were ready for a very strong challenge and I think our mental and physical preparations paid off. We were delighted with the goal when Anique scored.

It really gave us a great feeling that we were able to come away with a draw from the game. I was happy for all my teammates and the coaching staff who have put in a lot of hard work in the months gone by.

Now we will continue to work on our game but we will also reflect on the first game and enjoy the result a bit.

We felt really good to get the draw and now we will focus on the next match and try to maintain our high level of preparations for the World Cup in September. I hope that all the fans will continue to support us. Until next time, bye for now from Brazil.
