CERAMIC Merry Boys hammered Clico Preysal by 155 runs yesterday to move joint top of Group ‘B’ in the Sunday League at St Mary’s Grounds, St Clair.
With just one round to go, three teams are tied on seven points at the summit of the group as the teams jostle for seeding ahead of the quarter- finals.
Batting first, Merry Boys posted a challenging 210 for nine from 45 overs and then bundled out Preysal for 55 runs to join TTEC and Alescon Comets at the top of the standings.
Merry Boys got 61 from Aaron Alfred, 37 from Alcindo Alfred and 22 from Franklyn Rouse. Andy Gobin (3/33) and Daniel St Clair (2/50) were the pick of the bowlers.
The Merry Boys bowlers then destroyed Preysal with Javed Ramdhaine taking four wickets for eight runs and Kervon Christmas grabbing four for 24. Miguel Nedd top-scored with just 14.
